“The team at Poole Accident Repair were exceptional. They were quick to return my calls and provided a very competitive estimate. I was continually updated with the progress of repairs and the repair work itself made my car look like new: from start to finish, the process couldn't have been easier or more professional”.

Mr Baker, Salisbury.

Specialist Aluminium Repair Facility

Poole Accident Repair was the South Coast's first development specifically designed to specialise in the repair of all-aluminium vehicles.

The new complex is one of only a small number of specialist aluminium repair facilities throughout the UK and the first Volkswagen Group approved Accident Repair centre for Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda and the Volkswagen commercial sector on the South Coast. Poole Accident Repair was also handpicked by Audi UK as one of just five businesses to be authorised to repair the complex aluminium structure of the Audi R8 sports car.

Aluminium will form the future of vehicle production

The advantages of aluminium over steel guarantee that a greater proportion of aluminium will be used in manufacturing the vehicles of the future:

  • Lightweight: aluminium is four times lighter than steel.
  • Fuel economy: the huge weight advantage of aluminium over steel improves performance. An all-aluminium vehicle will have a smaller engine and fuel tank than its steel equivalent. This 10% weight reduction in the vehicle boosts fuel efficiency by over 8%.
  • Strong: aluminium is 2.5 times stronger than steel.
  • Safer: aluminium reacts differently to other metals, absorbing twice the energy of steel in the event of an accident.
  • Non-corrosive: aluminium does not rust.
  • Recyclable and more environmentally friendly than other metals.
  • Abundant: aluminium is one of the most plentiful and readily obtainable metals in the world, although it is currently difficult to extract and expensive to process.
  • Improves reliability and reduces assembly costs by reducing the number of parts required to make the body of the vehicle.

Increasing the demand for specialist aluminium repairs by trained professionals

As premium manufacturers continue to use aluminium more extensively in vehicle production, the demand for specialist aluminium repair facilities will increase. Repairing all-aluminium cars requires specialist equipment including a state-of-the-art enclosed work booth separate from other repair initiatives and tools dedicated solely to aluminium repair.
